After your organization has been approved in the Credential Engine Accounts System, you will then be able to enter additional data for your organization. The following instructions are for the manual entry of benchmark data recommended in the Credential Organization Benchmark Model.

Entering Organization Recommended Benchmark Data
- Once your organization has been approved to publish, access the Credential Engine Publisher here: https://apps.credentialengine.org/publisher/. Log in using the same login credentials you created in the Accounts System.
- In the Publisher, use the Search bar to find your organization. Select the ‘Edit’ button underneath your organization name. This will direct you to the Manual Editor for your organization.
- ‘Agent Purpose’ and ‘Agent Purpose Description’ can be found under the Organization tab in the Manual Editor. In the ‘Agent Purpose’ field, enter a direct link to the website where the organization’s mission or purpose is stated. In the ‘Agent Purpose Description’ field, enter a description of the organization’s mission or purpose.
- To include an ‘Organization Image,’ typically your organization’s logo, provide a direct link to the image. Ensure that the URL you enter is publicly accessible.
- Add a ‘Founding Date.’ When entering the ‘Founding Date,’ you have the option to enter either the year alone, the year and month, or the complete date.
- Select the relevant ‘Organization Service Types.’ These are the different methods by which your organization engages with credentials. For instance, if you are a certification body, you would typically choose options such as ‘offer,’ ‘renew,’ and ‘revoke.’
- Including ‘Keywords’ will enhance the discoverability of your organization. To add ‘Keywords,’ click the ‘Add a Keyword’ button. A blank text box will appear to enter keywords or key phrases. You may enter as many relevant and necessary keywords for your organization.
- The last property in the Organization tab is ‘Jurisdiction.’ This property is for applicable information about geographic areas and their exceptions. To begin, click the ‘Add new Jurisdiction’ button located under ‘Jurisdiction.’
- After clicking the ‘Add new Jurisdiction’ button, a new pop up window will appear. In this window, enter the applicable information about the organization’s jurisdiction. From here, provide a summarization of the jurisdiction. If it is global, select a primary region and any region exceptions. After entering all applicable data, select ‘Save and Close.’

- Under the Address and Contact Information tab, located below the Organization tab, enter the ‘Organization Social Media Pages.’ To enter your organization’s social media, click the ‘Add a Social Media Page’ button and repeat for all social media.
- The Credential Engine team recommends entering information about how your organization develops and maintains your credentials. To enter this information, go to the Organization Processes tab located towards the bottom of the Manual Editor. Selecting this tab will expand to display all processes that can be entered.
- To enter the ‘Maintenance Processes’ data, click the ‘Add new Maintenance Process’ button situated on the right-hand side. This action will open a new pop-up window where you can enter the details of the ‘Maintenance Processes.’ In this profile, provide a necessary description that summarizes this information. There are additional fields to include a relevant webpage, External Input Type, Process frequency, Process Method, Process Standards, Effective Date, and other relevant information. Once you have entered all the relevant data, click the ‘Save and Close’ button located at the bottom of the profile.
- To enter the ‘Development Processes’ data, click the ‘Add new Development Process’ button situated on the right-hand side. This action will open a new pop-up window where you can enter the details of the ‘Development Processes.’ Similar to ‘Maintenance Processes,’ provide a necessary description summarizing the processes involved in developing the organization’s credentials. There are additional fields to include a subject webpage, External Input Type, Process frequency, Process Method, Process Standards, Effective Date, and other relevant information. Once you have entered all the applicable data, click the ‘Save and Close’ button located at the bottom of the profile.
- To enter the ‘Maintenance Processes’ data, click the ‘Add new Maintenance Process’ button situated on the right-hand side. This action will open a new pop-up window where you can enter the details of the ‘Maintenance Processes.’ In this profile, provide a necessary description that summarizes this information. There are additional fields to include a relevant webpage, External Input Type, Process frequency, Process Method, Process Standards, Effective Date, and other relevant information. Once you have entered all the relevant data, click the ‘Save and Close’ button located at the bottom of the profile.
- The Credential Engine team recommends including information about quality assurance, such as accreditation, recognition, or approval. Expand the External Third Party Quality Assurance Received tab and select the ‘Add new Role’ button located on the right-hand side.
- This will trigger a new pop-up window for the Quality Assurance profile. In this window, you will choose the type(s) of relationship that the Quality Assurance organization performs. Once you have selected the type(s) of relationship, use the search function to find and select the organization fulfilling the role(s). If the Quality Assurance organization is not found in the search, you can add the organization as a reference. To add an organization reference, click the ‘Add Organization Reference’ button located on the right-hand side of the organization search. When adding an organization reference, simply provide the Name, Description, and Subject Webpage. After entering the quality assurance roles and organization, click the ‘Save and Close’ button at the bottom of the screen. Note: If your organization has multiple ‘External Third Party Quality Assurance’ instances, click on ‘Save and Add Another’ at the bottom of the screen to create additional profiles.
- This will trigger a new pop-up window for the Quality Assurance profile. In this window, you will choose the type(s) of relationship that the Quality Assurance organization performs. Once you have selected the type(s) of relationship, use the search function to find and select the organization fulfilling the role(s). If the Quality Assurance organization is not found in the search, you can add the organization as a reference. To add an organization reference, click the ‘Add Organization Reference’ button located on the right-hand side of the organization search. When adding an organization reference, simply provide the Name, Description, and Subject Webpage. After entering the quality assurance roles and organization, click the ‘Save and Close’ button at the bottom of the screen. Note: If your organization has multiple ‘External Third Party Quality Assurance’ instances, click on ‘Save and Add Another’ at the bottom of the screen to create additional profiles.
- To store all the benchmark data you have entered, save it to the Publisher by clicking the ‘Save Data’ button located at the bottom of the screen.
- After entering your organization data, the next step is to approve your data to be published.
Approving Organization Data
- From the navigation bar at the top of the page, click on the dropdown menu labeled ‘Summary and Downloads.’ From there, select ‘Organization Summary and Downloads’ to be directed to your Organization Summary Page.
- On your Organization Summary Page, in the My Organization tab, select either ‘Approve My Organization’ if you are approving your organization for the first time, or ‘Reapprove My Organization,’ if you are approving updates to your organization.
- Upon approval of the data, the Credential Engine team will automatically be notified of the approval to be published. Once published to the registry you will receive an email notification of the data being published. Your data will be available on the Credential Finder in about 30 minutes following the publish.
