New York: Reimagine Workforce Preparation Grant

Guidance for Updating Credentials

Recipients of federal Reimagine Workforce Preparation (RWP) grants are required to make information about credentials developed or delivered through these funds publicly accessible, transparent, and interoperable. Credential Engine, a national nonprofit organization with a mission to promote credential transparency, partners with New York State to achieve this goal. Credential Engine’s tools enable RWP awardees to make this information available in a public, open-source Credential Registry.

RWP awardees are required to add their credential information to the Credential Registry. The resources provided on this page are intended to help awardees maintain accurate and up-to-date information.

How often should credential information be updated?

RWP grantees should update information in the Credential Registry as and when program or curriculum changes occur. At a minimum, grantees must confirm their data is current at least every two years. If updates have not been made in 24 months, grantees will receive a notification from Credential Engine.
